The WSET Level 3 Award in Wines is an advanced level qualification for professionals working in the wine industry and for serious wine enthusiasts. Building on the knowledge gained through the WSET Level 2 Award in Wines, the Level 3 Award in Wines goes both broader and deeper. It is designed to give you a thorough understanding of the factors that account for the style, quality and price of the principal still, sparkling and fortified wines of the world.
Your qualified educator will guide you in developing your tasting skills through a carefully selected range of wines ranging from everyday familiar styles to outstanding bottles from iconic producers. You'll learn how to use your tasting notes to make objective conclusions on a wine's style, quality and readiness for drinking.
The course runs for just over four and a half days of lectures and will include tasting of between 78 and 83 wines. This course requires a significant private study committment as WSET recommends a minimum of 60 hours of private learning of the course material prior to attending this course.
Successful candidates will be able to taste and describe with confidence the characteristics of the principal wines of the world and give information on the key factors influencing style, quality and price.
Those who work with wine will be in a great position to advise management, to answer customer queries authoritatively, and to make informed selections of wines in a variety of situations.
