Begin your Wine Learning Journey with us!
Hi, I'm Jess Ferguson and VinScholar is my "wine baby". I've been involved in the wine industry for the past 15 years, including stints as winemaker, lab manager and WSET Course Educator for this APP 1729's previous incarnation - Sirromet Wines Education Training.
After taking a step back from full-time winemaking, and with the Sirromet owners' blessing, I successfully applied to WSET to bring APP 1729 under my own business, VinScholar.
I'm passionate about wine, about education, and about making our courses a fabulous immersive experience.
In addition to WSET courses, we also offer the option to create a bespoke training or appreciation session to suit your function or social gathering.
Jessica Ferguson
Owner and Educator, VinScholar
Jess grew up in Hobart and graduated with a science degree in chemistry before following her travel dream, living several years in Canada and Scotland before returning to live in Brisbane in 2003. She spent 15 years at Sirromet Wines in roles ranging from laboratory manager to winemaker and WSET Educator. Jess has extensive wine show judging experience at regional and national level, she was Dux of the 35th Advanced Wine Tasting Course run by the AWRI in Adelaide, and is currently completing her WSET Diploma in Wine.
Jess is a firm believer that everyone can learn the skills of tasting and assessing wine.
